A meltdown is a common way to describe someone who is freaking out or having a really big reaction to something. It's a funny American English slang expression.
Meltdown/Having a Meltdown = temper tantrum.
Meltdown examples:

Transcript for having a meltdown:
Hey everybody, it's Jackie from eslspeaking.org. So today's slang is, "meltdown." Usually, the phrase is, "Having a meltdown." A meltdown means a big temper tantrum, very angry, super angry, super just like ahh..yelling and screaming. A meltdown usually refers to young children, like 2 or 3 years old. Yelling at the grocery store, or at the toy store, and their parents are angry. That is a child having a meltdown.
However, adults can have a meltdown too. So maybe at work if you're very, very stressed out, so busy and just AH! I can't do it anymore, you might have a meltdown.
