A question that lots of people have is "what is the present perfect tense". The present perfect tense is used to describe two situations The first situation it's used to talk about an indefinite time in the past, so for example: "I've been bungee jumping". You went bungee jumping sometime in the past, but it's not clear when it could be, could be yesterday, it could be one year ago, 10 years ago, 30 years ago. We don't know the time in the past. Another example is "I've read Harry Potter". That means you've read the Harry Potter books at some time in the past, but it's unclear when it could have been. Last week, last winter vacation, ten years ago when you were middle in middle school, etc. The second situation the present perfect tense is used when you talk about something that started in the past and continues until now, the present. So for example "she's studied for hours", so she began studying in the past and then is studying up until now, the present time. Another example is "I've played soccer for years", which means you started playing soccer many, many years ago and you are still playing soccer today. Alright, so how do you make the present perfect tense? 1. Subject: I, she, he, we, etc. 2. has and have, depending on the subjects (she has, I have) 3. past participle verb: eat, ate, eaten, etc. There are some tricky ones for example: "read, red, read" they are all spelled the same, it's the third verb in that in that series. It's a little bit tricky in writing and in speaking because it's often made with contractions, so for example "she's played soccer for years" she apostrophe "S." It could be "she is" or "she has" so be careful with that. All right, so that's all from me.
