Transcript for how to do an informative speech:
I'm going to talk about how to do an informative speech. The purpose is to teach your audience something. There are three simple steps.
The first is an introduction, which is essentially a hook. So you want to grab the audience's attention and give them a reason to listen. The second is your body, so your main points that you're going to hit. And then the last step is just a very simple conclusion, so kind of telling people what you hope they have learned.
I'm going to do one about how to be an ESL teacher. So my introduction, or my hook. I would say, do you want to have the adventure of a lifetime? I hope my audience says yes.
Then I would do my body. So I would say, maybe I'd talk about the qualifications you need to do it, maybe like the experience you need, how to apply, and then how to get your visa and then finally you would go teach English in another country. So that would be the body. I'd be actually giving my audience information about how to do the various steps.
And then I would do a conclusion. I would say maybe like a call to action. I could say, are you ready for the big adventure? and I hope that my audience says yes.
Those are the simple steps in how to do an informative speech.
